50,000 more nurses? 31,000 is the answer.

50,000 more nurses?

How many of those will actually be new?   31,000 is the answer.       #nomoremisinformation

This is a fairly simple one and i'm not even going to get into whether they can achieve 31,000 more nurses, fund it, train them etc although I did see something on a nurses site which said they wouldn't be full nurses as they take 3 years to train, but another time for that.

So this is just about maths and misinformation of which this election and indeed the referendum saw levels of lying, fake news, misinformation, vilification on a scale never seen before and its a scary direction we are heading in. Democracy is voting on facts not misinformation, Dictators use lies, and misinformation.

Anyway I give you two Tories and a BloJo (Not a bad name for a group that :-))

The maths are simple stop trying to spin it and say it as it is, in the end Boris had to but bloody hell did it take some time.

If you have 2 cows and the Tories give you 3 more, do you have 5 more cows or 3 more cows?

If you have 2 apples  and the Tories give you 3 more, do you have 3 more apples or 5 more?

If you have 2 pound coins in your pocket and the Tories give you 3 more, do you have 3 more pound coins or 5 more?

No more needs to be said really.

We will leave the EU in six weeks - YUP ITS A LIE

So Boris and his team of Tories claim we will leave the EU in six weeks at the end of January.

BloJo has repeated this several times, others have repeated it on Radio and Mark Francois, deputy chairman of the European Research Group, has stated....
Looking to the future, he added: “Once we leave the European Union on January 31, we withdraw from its institutions.
“We are no longer part of the customs union, we are no longer part of the single market.
“We withdraw our MEPs from the European Parliament (sorry Nigel!) because quite rightly we no longer have rights to have seats.
Lets just look at that.

YUP ITS A LIE

The facts are, once BloJo has got his/Mayhems changed deal through parliament we then enter into a transition stage at the end of January. This is not leaving the EU.... to spell it out

  • We will still be part of the customs union.
  • Still be part of the single market.
  • We will still be abiding by EU rules and regulation.
  • We will still be paying into the EU budget.
  • And we will still be paying into EU projects agreed during this transition period until they are completed.
Until the end of December 2020

That's just the simple version.......

I hope that clears things up for a few people .....and a few politicians including BloJo who either hasnt got a clue or is just carrying on with the pathological lying. The worrying thing being it seems to be spreading, other Tories are catching pathological lying and I never thought it was a transmittable disease.

Transition
The transition - a period of time during which all of the current rules stay the same allowing the UK and the EU to negotiate their future relationship - is due to last until the end of December 2020.
The UK will need to abide by EU rules and pay into the EU budget, but will lose membership of its institutions.
The transition can be extended, but only for a period of one or two years.
Both the UK and EU must agree to any extension.

At the end of the transition period on 31 December 2020, the UK is set to exit the EU’s customs union and single market and enter newly negotiated arrangements.

The Withdrawal Agreement ensures a smooth winding-down of current EU-UK arrangements during a transition period that lasts until 31 December 2020. The EU will treat the UK as if it were a Member State during the transition.
The transition period can be extended once by a newly established EU-UK Joint Committee, as long as it decides to do so before 1 July 2020.
During the transition, all EU legislation, rules and court decisions will continue to apply to and in the UK as if it were a Member State.
This means the UK will continue to participate in the EU Customs Union and the Single Market (with all four freedoms) and all Union policies.
Any changes to EU legislation or rules will automatically apply to the UK.
The Withdrawal Agreement protects the rights of over three million EU citizens in the UK, and over one million UK nationals in EU countries, meaning they can continue to live, work or study as they currently do.
It also outlines a financial settlement, ensuring the UK honours all financial obligations undertaken while it was a Member State.
The amount will be determined by an agreed methodology that honours all joint commitments from the EU budget (2014-2020), including outstanding commitments at the end of 2020.
That means all EU projects and programmes funded from the current EU budget and involving UK partners will continue to be financed until they’re completed.

All this achieved by just 4 million muslims out of the 66 million population

Muslims in the UK: the viral poster, factchecked

From 2017 and still doing the rounds .....my mate Sid the Sun reader came up with this one. You have to laugh.

Personally I think all religion should be banned however that's not going to happen and whilst I think its a load of old eyewash (as my Dad used to say) it does bring comfort to a lot of people. However it brings a lot of discomfort to a lot of other people.

I've always thought you have the right to believe in whatever you want as long as it doesn't adversely  affect others, so if your not adversely affecting others crack on.

Apart from the meme above I saw another comment which someone stated as if it was undisputed fact "If muslims pray in their own house they are exempt from council tax" again this is a load of old eyewash.  https://fullfact.org/online/muslims-arent-exempt-from-council-tax/

Anyway back to the meme which surprise, surprise is largely incorrect. No pint me reinvesting the wheel when Fullfact have already done the leg work so Ive posted their summaries below see their full article for the detail.   https://fullfact.org/news/muslims-uk-viral-poster-factchecked/

Muslim Mayors
Claim: The mayors of London, Birmingham, Leeds, Blackburn, Sheffield, Oxford, Luton, Oldham, and Rochdale are Muslim.
Conclusion: All of these places have had a Muslim mayor in the past, they do not all currently have a Muslim mayor.
Mosques
Claim: There are over 3,000 mosques in the UK.
Conclusion: This figure is probably too high. Although there is no definitive source, the true figure is likely to be between 1,000 and 2,000.
Sharia councils
Claim: There are over 130 Sharia Courts and 50 Sharia councils in the UK.
Conclusion: There is no difference between a Sharia council and a Sharia court, and no definitive figures for how many there are. Around 30 major Sharia councils have been identified, rising to “85 at least” when smaller councils and online forums are included. They aren’t formal courts of law and cannot overrule national law.
No-go areas
Claim: There are Muslims-only “no-go areas” in the UK.
Conclusion: There is no formal definition of a no-go area. The Metropolitan Police and the Foreign Office say there are no areas where the law can't be enforced in the UK. The police service inspector has commented there are "communities from other cultures who would prefer to police themselves" which the police are never called to, though he doesn't specify whether these are Muslim.
Unemployment
Claim: 78% of Muslim women don't work and are on free benefits/housing.
Conclusion: Roughly right for work, but we're not aware of any figures on benefits and housing by religion. 16% of Muslim women are unemployed, while a further 58% are ‘economically inactive’, using 2015 figures. At the same time, about 5% of women in the UK were unemployed and 42% economically inactive.
Claim: 63% of Muslim men don't work and are on free benefits/housing.
Conclusion: Incorrect. 11% of Muslim men are unemployed, while a further 24% are ‘economically inactive’, using 2015 figures. At the same time, about 6% of men in the UK were unemployed and 31% economically inactive. We're not aware of any figures for benefits and housing by religion.
Benefits and housing
Claim: 6-8 children “planning to go on free benefits/housing”.
Conclusion: In England and Wales, the average Muslim household with children has 2.3 children, compared to 1.8 for households overall. We're not aware of any figures for benefits and housing by religion.
Halal meat in schools
Claim: All UK schools are only serving Halal meat.
Conclusion: Incorrect. Schools can choose whether or not to serve Halal-only meat. Many don’t.
Population
Claim: There are 4 million Muslims in the UK.
Conclusion: Incorrect. The Muslim population is estimated to be 3.1 million in 2015, out of around 65 million.

How many trees can you plant?

Now, 2bn trees over 20 years, is 100,000,000 trees per year, or just under 2,000,000 per week. This equates to approximately 200 trees every minute of every day, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 20 years!

So big numbers are always scary for those that can't comprehend them.  However coming from a Project Management point of view how would we deal with this.  Well we would need a workforce for a start, but how big would that work force be?  and the trees would have to be planted all over the UK so lets break it down into counties.

There are 98 counties in the UK.

Now some counties would have the land to plant more trees and others less,  but for the benefits of example and keeping it simple

Total Trees  2,000,000,000 (2 billion in 20 years)
Per Year      100,000,000
Per Month   8,333,333
per week      1,923,077
per day         274,725

But lets not work a 7 day week so we will only work 5 days a week.

Per 5 days equals 384,615  trees per day.

An experienced tree planter will plant 1500 trees a day. For the benefits of clarity, we are talking saplings and not full grown trees.

But lets go low and take a 1/3rd of that so we will work on each of our team members planting 500 trees/ saplings a day.

Great Britain[edit]Planting in Britain is commonly referred to as restocking, when it takes place on land that has recently been harvested. When occurring on previously unforested land it is known as new planting.[8] Under the British system, in order to acquire the necessary permissions to clearcut, the landowner must agree a management plan with the Forestry Commission (the regulatory body for all things forestry) which must include proposals for the re-establishment of tree cover on the land. Planting contractors will be engaged by the landowner/management company, a contract drawn up and work will typically take place from November to April when most of the transplants are dormant.
Planting is part of the rotational nature of much British plantation forestry. Productive tree crops are planted and subsequently clearcut. Some form of soil cultivation may take place and the ground is then restocked. Where the production of timber is a management priority, a prescribed stocking density must be achieved. For coniferous species this will be a minimum of 2500 stems per hectare at year 5 (from planting). Planting at this density has been shown to favour the development of straighter knot-free logs.
Planters are normally paid under piece work terms and an experienced worker will plant around 1500 trees a day under most conditions.

So far we need to plant 384,615  trees per day over 5 days a week.
Which means at 500 trees a day  we will need a work force of  769 people

Now we have 98 counties in the UK so lets divide the workforce up into the counties.

769 / 98 = 7.8   so we need 8 people in each county planting trees.  Think that's easily achievable don't you?

Now remember we only used a 1/3rd of the amount of trees that an experienced planter can do so this figure is low and means would take into account bad weather etc.

So the question is do you think we could employ 8 people planting trees in all the counties in the UK for 5 days a week for 20 years.

Not looking quite so silly now is it?

Ambitious maybe but definitely possible.

Boris Johnson's car crash head to head with Jeremy Corbyn

Corbyn played a mastercard and I didnt realise how much of a mastercard at the time.  That came to light later.

After the leader election debate between Corbyn and Johnson I was of the opinion that it was a bit of a draw with noone coming out on top, however events that came to light after that changed my opinion.

During the debate Corbyn waved a freedom of information document around on negotiations between the Tories and the US which had been heavily redacted (for redacted read censored).

“Every single line of this document, redacted out. A document here, of US-UK negotiations. Summary of specific negotiating objectives: full market access for US products to our National Health Service. You’re going to sell out our NHS to the United States and big pharma.”  ~ Jeremy Corbyn

Now here's why I now feel that it was a car crash for BloJo......

  1. The Tories obviously had the rebranded twitter account ready to go live if they got hit with something that they couldn't counter and this was it.
  2. Soon after Corbyn made that statement the rebranded FAKE factcheck branding was put up on the twitter account trying to claim Corbyn was the liar to cover the impact of the documents.
  3. If the document was not factual why didn't the Tories mentioned it afterwards. They never claimed the document was fake. They never claimed it was incorrect.
  4. It was so important they were prepared to risk having their twitter account suspended by contravening twitter's rules.
  5. Every Tory i've seen interviewed since claimed they did it to exposed Corbyn lies, never mentioning the document.
  6. The fact that they havnt claimed the document is a pack of lies is telling.  If the document was incorrect or fake BloJo could have easily said so in front of millions of people.  He didn't, all he could do was bluster his way through it and continue with the Tory mantra that the NHS is not for sale which now people can see is the biggest lie of the lot.
  7. Since then BloJo has pulled out of a 2nd head to head debate scheduled on channel 4 as they obviously know its going to get mentioned again and they cant counter it because the document is factual.
  8. Regardless what the Tories claim the NHS has been being sold off to private companies for years. It's just done stealthily with Virgin Care one of the biggest health care providers.

Pollster YouGov found Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn were roughly neck-and-neck in the contest, with 51 per cent of the audience saying the Tory leader won and 49 per cent saying the Labour leader. But among undecided voters Mr Corbyn was judged to have won a decisive victory, with a 59-41 per cent lead over Boris Johnson as best performer among that group.

The BBC's absolutely indefensible Bias against Jeremy Corbyn continues

Will Jeremy Corbyn's long march lead to power?
In 2009 at a Palestine Solidarity meeting he referred to “our friends from Hezbollah” and “our friends from Hamas”. His defence, when criticised, was similar to his stated reasons for meeting Irish republicans. He told Channel 4 News that “to bring about a peace process, you have to talk to people with whom you profoundly disagree”.
Note the last part of that quote  “to bring about a peace process, you have to talk to people with whom you profoundly disagree”

Picture 1 posted about 2am in morning
It's interesting that the image on this link was one that was obviously put up to make Corbyn look like a communist. See picture 1 above posted about 2am and picture 2 below, by 11:44 the image on the website had been changed).

I remember thinking well if that's not biased reporting from the BBC I dont know what is.

The absolute lies, misinformation and hypocrisy is literally beyond belief.

Picture 2 changed by 11:44 Am
This was run only a few days after the BBC had "Accidently" run a video of remembrance day from 2016 making BloJo look good and Corbyn look bad.

In reality it was BloJo that looked dishevelled, made several cock ups and laid the wreath upside down.  Still the media only had time to shout that Corbyn hadn't bowed enough.   Apparently there isn't a right or wrong way to lay a wreath, but I guarantee there would have been if Corbyn had put it the wrong way up.

One looks like hes been out at a nightclub all night and the other is Jeremy Corbyn.

BloJo Smarter on left in 2016 against on right looking like been pulled through a hedge backwards 2019

BBC apologises for using wrong Remembrance Sunday clip

Then whilst listening to Radio 5 live I heard the interviewer saying "but surely this is just going to let Corbyn into number 10" not Labour but Corbyn.  Any references on the other side were not made about Johnson but the Conservatives.

Absolutely indefensible Bias.

They have done exactly the same before in 2018 positioning Corbyn on a screen next to a picture of the Kremlin.

Apparently it was the curved screen, yeah right.

Did the BBC edit a photo of Jeremy Corbyn to make him look close to Russia?

Tuesday 12 November 2019

I received this today, more totally fake news from the Tories.

  1. Why is it fake? Labour hasn't released its manifesto yet so how could they possibly know. This is just a bunch of made up guesses.
  2. Its absolute rubbish the only people paying a bit more tax are those top 5% of people, with the Tories you see your money given away to those that don't need it.
  3. The Tories haven't released a manifesto yet either and it looks like they don't intend to until towards the end of the election, what are they scared of?
  4. In 2017 the Tories never released any financial statement and the country let them get away with it, a blank cheque!
  5. In 2010 the Tories claimed we were bankrupt, but managed in 2014 to give away 94 billion in tax concessions to big corporations?  Basically they lied and are still lying through their teeth to this day.
  6. BloJo is the biggest snake oil charmer of them all, with all the lies and misinformation he's spread why would anyone believe a word he says?
  7. Through the worst austerity for decades the Tories have added over 800 billion to UK debt since 2010

Dear Gary,

The Cost of Corbyn has been revealed – and Labour's £1.2 trillion spending plans would hit you straight in the pocket.

It would cost the average worker a month’s wages in higher taxes to pay for Corbyn’s reckless spending.

Under Corbyn’s plans, you’d have to pay an extra £2,400 in tax. Every single year.

A new homes tax. A new gifts tax. Higher fuel duty. Higher aviation duty. The list goes on.

If Corbyn wins this election, he’s not just going to run out of money. He’s going to run out of new taxes.

And that means chaos for our economy.

The latest jobs data out today showed just how important it is to make the right choices on our economy. Employment is up, unemployment is down and wages are rising.

Only the Conservatives can be trusted to build on the decade of recovery. Don't let Corbyn and McDonnell bury it under a mountain of new debt and higher taxes.

Blojo has negotiated a ‘NEW’ fantastic deal

Brilliant you really couldn’t make it up (If what is being reported is true), due to a string of the Tory's incompetent decision’s one of the smallest parties yet again holds the entire UK to ransom. Interestingly its a party that was voted in with less votes than Jeremy Corbyn.

Mays deal was effectively voted down by the ERG stopping Brexit on the 31st March, Yes their votes would have swung it, because the DUP (and a lot of others) didn’t like the temporary back stop.

Now Blojo has negotiated a ‘NEW’ fantastic deal with a permanent backstop (although it’s not called that) and unsurprisingly the DUP are not agreeing to it, which means that the ERG won’t agree to it.

If you wanted to negotiate a deal that wouldn’t get through parliament you couldn’t really do a better job, again if true, the whole thing is an absolute sham.

Do squirrels know where they bury nuts

I was watching a squirrel happily burying nuts in the garden and I have always been amazed at how they know where they buried them.  Now I'm pretty sure that this squirrel knows exactly where they are as when it snows you can see the tracks directly to a particular point and not tracks all over the place as it would be if he was searching.  Anyway someone claimed that they don't know where they are they do lots of searching to find them again. Well I knew from watching my squirrel, that comment wasn't true.  So I did some searching......
According to the study "Grey Squirrels Remember the Locations of Buried Nuts," published in Princeton University's journal "Animal Behavior," squirrels use spatial memory often to locate stored food. The study shows squirrels go back more often to their own food caches than to the caches of other squirrels, suggesting that they use memory to locate their food. Squirrels often bury their food near landmarks that aid them in remembering where they stored the food. The study also suggests that squirrels bury food in a series of locations that help them form a cognitive map of all storage locations.

A seminal 1991 research paper published in the journal Animal Behavior showed that even when multiple grey squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) bury their stash in close proximity to one another, individuals of this species will remember and return to the precise locations of their personal cache. This is echoed by multiple other studies, showing that the squirrels' spatial memory helps them map out the territory around them to find their food. Under certain conditions — like when their nuts are buried under snow — a sense of smell won’t always be effective in helping them find food. So, it makes sense that squirrels could be relying on other cues.

Getting out of the EU can be quick and easy

Unfortunately when your voted in its your duty to do the best for the whole of the country. MPs have a far better insight and knowledge (Ok well leave Chris Grayling and a few other out) of the impact of whats going on. Also there at the front line of information rather than the bollox Tory media like the Sun spouts out on a regular basis. Which actually brain washes people into believing ridiculous things and certainly not fact. If you remember that the sun has a readership of 6 million that alone is nearly a third of the leave vote.
The majority voted to leave with a deal because that is what the Brexit campaign, campaigned on. Leaving without a deal was shot down as project fear and wouldn't happen. We would be able to strike the quickest and easiest deal with the EU in history.
Go and check the interviews from 2016 if you don't believe that. So Labour certainly are following the wishes of the majority and fighting to leave with a deal. Its not anyone elses fault that the Tories have fcuked this up.
Dictators never succeed in the end and Mayhem certainly prooved that the Tories are a Dictatorship by going of and negotiating "Brexit means Brexit". Just that her "Brexit mean Brexit" wasnt what anyone else thought it meant.
